Food for Thought: Boos and Brew for your Halloween Bash
Posted by Annette Bellisari on
Maybe my Halloween costume this year should be that of a witch – all I need is a black pointy hat, right? 😉 I say this because I’ve been conjuring up powerful potions and sweet spells to quench the thirsts of both grownup trick-or-treaters and the little ghosts and goblins too. Let’s all join around the caldron and see what’s on the menu.

Food for Thought: Fun, Fast, Fabulous Halloween Flatbreads

These days, since my boys are older, trick-or-treat isn’t a big deal around our house. However, interestingly enough, they still love one of our traditions that if truth be told, originated out of the need to get something hearty and healthy into their little bellies, quickly, before they dug in to all the candy they’d receive that evening. 9 times out of 10, I’d be rushing home from work, having intended to leave early, but never actually leaving as early as I wanted. The Halloween dinner idea I came up with was a “Make your Own Flatbread” bar, and to this day, I get a big smile out of my guys when they see the trappings set up on the kitchen island.

Food for Thought: Winner, Winner what’s for Dinner?

Speaking from experience, (I like to think I have my Mustard’s Degree when it comes to this particular food item! 😉) mustard is a pretty polarizing condiment. I've met people who hate it, people who think it has its place, and people who put it on whatever they please. I, myself, love mustard and am unreasonably excited to write this blog. I encourage you to try different kinds because I know for sure that if you don't like yellow mustard, that doesn't mean you won't like any other types. There’s definitely no dearth in the mustard section of the grocery stores. Have you gone down that aisle lately? It can be a bit overwhelming to face so many choices. But, each mustard has a unique flavor that differentiates it enough for it to be, well, its own type of mustard.

Food for Thought: 3 & 4 Ingredient Recipes for Your Next Tailgate Party
Posted by Annette Bellisari on
Strike up the fight song, and dress in your finest (funnest?) team-fan attire! Football season is finally here, and along with the sport comes one of my favorite ways to socialize and entertain – the traditional tailgate party. Whether it’s Friday night high school football, a Saturday college game, or a pro-game on Sunday, a tailgate party sets the perfect mood for the game. While tailgate parties are expected to have yummy food and plentiful adult beverages, there’s no need to exhaust yourself getting ready for the celebration before the big game. You can still score big without wearing yourself out.
