Blistered Jalapleño & Fig Stuffed Apples
Butter, brown sugar and cinnamon are the Holy Trinity of autumn flavors. They form the base of this classic stuffed apple dish, elevated with the complexity of my Blistered Jalapeño & Fig spread.
This gourmet version is overloaded with pecans that caramelize in the oven. The spices and apple sugars blend to make your house smell as awesome as these Blistered Jalapeño & Fig stuffed apples taste!-- Annette
Serves 2
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (can substitute walnuts)
- 1 tablespoon of Bellisari’s Blistered Jalape ño & Fig Spread
- 2 medium apples
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a sauté pan, heat butter and brown sugar until slightly caramelized.
- Add nuts, cinnamon and Bellisari’s Blistered Jalape ño & Fig Spread; toss to coat. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Remove stem from the apple and using a paring knife, scoop the core of the apple but leave some at the bottom to hold the filling.
- Stuff apples evenly with pecan mixture and place in a shallow baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes, or until soft.
