This easy weeknight meal pairs handcrafted home cooking and the convenience of Bellisari's versatile spreads. This manicotti recipe uses my simple and super popular lasagna dip as its filling. You can stock up on our Calabrian tomato spread and double the dip recipe for the filling: Freeze half to keep handy for those unexpected holiday guests, or for a fast Friday night appetizer!
Ingredients:
- Lasagna Dip (see link for recipe)
- 8oz. Cream Cheese
- 1 lb. Sweet or hot Italian sausage to taste (ground)
- 1 Jar Bellisari's Calabrian Pepper & Sweet Tomato Fennel Spread
- Manicotti noodles, boiled
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- Mozarella cheese, shredded
- Fresh basil
Directions
- Prepare dip in a skillet by browning an draining sausage and stirring in Bellisari's spread and cream cheese.
- Boil the package of manicotti noodles according to instructions on the package.
- Stuff the cooked noodles with lasagna dip
- Place in a baking dish one layer deep
- Cover with tomato sauce
- Finish with mozzarella cheese
- Bake for 20 min. at 350 degrees.
- Garnish with fresh basil out of the oven.
