I love Halloween! I love the whole “spooky but fun” type of Halloween -- decorating the house, helping my boys with their costumes, and, of course, coming up with fun and delicious food ideas for the holiday.

With Halloween on the horizon, our thoughts must turn to another first brought on by the year 2020 -- Trick or Treat during a pandemic. Obviously, celebrations this year will not look like years past.

Like everything in the year 2020, Halloween plans are shifting as we continue to fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic. Our normal trick-or-treating is a tradition beloved by so many families and children that it is hard to envision the holiday taking place without it. 

I know the term “cancel culture” has nothing to do with my social life, but dang it! How many more of my always-much-anticipated annual parties are going to be cancelled!?!? I don’t mean to sound flippant about this very serious topic.
