Maple Bacon Fig Bites

A maple bacon pastry dish is stacked on a piece of parchment paper on a wooden cutting board. There is a dark blue, almost grey, concrete background. A jar of Bellisari's Blistered Jalapeno & Fig Spread is placed next to the pastry.

This sweet and savory treat is so easy to make, you're not going to want to share. Whip it up in a matter of minutes to enjoy on any night.

Ingredients:
1 lb bacon
1 package cresent roll sheet (we used Pillsbury)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup Bellisari's Blistered Jalapeno & Fig Spread
3/4 cup brown sugar

Directions:
Cook bacon until it reaches at least 145ºF. You want it to be safe to eat but not crispy yet as it will continue to cook in the oven. Remove bacon grease on a paper towel-lined plate.

Preheat oven to 325ºF. Line a baking sheet with foil and liberally grease with cooking spray. Unroll the crescent dough and form into one single sheet of dough. Pinch the perforated lines to seal. Stretch the dough slightly with your hands so it's even and prick with a fork all over.

Pour and spread the maple syrup over the dough. You can use a spoon or a baking brush to help distribute it more evenly. Sprinkle approximately 1/4 cup of the brown sugar on the pastry dough. Rip bacon into small, bite sized pieces and add to the top. Drizzle Blistered Jalapeno & Fig Spread and top with remaining brown sugar.

Bake for approximately 12 minutes, or until caramelized and golden brown. Allow the pastry to come to room temperature before cutting.
