Saigon Baked Beans

At Bellisari's we try to make all of our recipes simple. You can make these beans from scratch like we did or you can grab a couple cans of vegetarian baked beans from the grocery store, add bacon and one jar of Saigon Street Sauce and it will get you pretty close to what we made today. These baked beans will take your breath away! They are packed with flavor and are sure to be the star of the BBQ.

Serves 6-8

Ingredients
• 15 ounces canned Navy Beans
• 15 ounces canned Great Northern Beans
• 15 ounces canned Pinot Beans
• 8 ounces of thick cut bacon, diced
• 1 green pepper, diced
• 1 yellow onion, diced
• 1 jar of Bellisari's Saigon Street Sauce
• 2 tablespoons Ketchup
• 2 tablespoons molasses
1/2 cup brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons chili powder
• Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions

In a medium sized pan cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon, but leave the oil and cook the diced onion and pepper together until soft. In a dutch oven or casserole dish add the assortment of beans, bacon, onion, pepper, Bellisari's Saigon Street Sauce, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar and spices. Mix it all together and bake at 400 for one hour. Enjoy!
