Easy Holiday Appetizers

Posted by Annette Bellisari on

Deck the halls and begin the holiday food frenzy with something festive, elegant, and best of all, easy! When it comes to putting together a holiday dinner, so much focus is put on the main dishes, whether that be a ham, a turkey, or what have you. But the first thing that your dinner guests are going to taste are the appetizers, so you'll want to make sure you've got some memorably delicious bites for them to snack on before the meal starts. These appetizers are perfect for getting a party started and for keeping it going smoothly to the main course.

What could be more elegant and be this easy? This recipe only has 3 ingredients!

Blue Cheese, Honey & Shallot Spread Endive Appetizer

Serves: 10

1 Jar Bellisari's Blue Cheese, Honey & Shallot Spread

12 Endive spears

1 Small bag of walnuts

1 Small sandwich bag

Wash endive spears thoroughly. Place 3 Tbsp of Bellisari's Blue Cheese, Honey & Shallot Spread into the sandwich bag. Cut a small slit in the corner of the bag. Gently squeeze the spread into the endive spears.

Top with chopped walnuts and serve.

This recipe is classy and appealing on the platter and delicious on the palate!

The following recipe looks and tastes super fancy, but it’s also super simple. The sweet, salty, with just the right amount of heat combination is perfect for opening your guest’s appetites for what’s coming next. And you can whip up trays of this easily before or during the party.

Blistered Jalapeno and Fig Mini Phyllo Shells

Servings: 15

I Jar of Bellisari's Blistered Jalapeno and Fig Spread

1 Package of mini phyllo shells (about 15 shells)

16 oz package of Mascarpone cheese

Fill filo shells with 1 teaspoon of mascarpone cheese and then top with 1 teaspoon of Bellisari's Blistered Jalapeno & Fig Spread and serve.

Finally, I’ll share the easiest recipe yet, but perhaps the most impressive due to the gourmet flavors involved. However, if you can open a jar, you can make this recipe your “signature” dish. 😉

Balsamic Shallot & Black Garlic Brie

Serves: 10

1 Jar Bellisari's Balsamic Shallot and Black Garlic Spread

1 Large Wheel of Brie

1 Sourdough baguette

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the Brie on a sheet pan covered with parchment paper and pour jar of Bellisari's Balsamic Shallot & Black Garlic Spread over the brie. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese starts to ooze but not melt. Serve with sliced baguette.

Our line of Bellisari’s Gourmet Spreads and Sauces always live up to our slogan of “Gourmet Convenience,” but it’s never more evident than during the sometimes-hectic holidays. When I’m running around, getting the kids where they need to be, making sure I have everything I need, the last thing I want to think about is a complicated recipe with many ingredients. Unless it’s quick, easy, and delicious, I don’t have time for it! The wonderful thing is if you have our products on hand, you’re just a few steps away from serving an amazing appetizer. I’ve shared just a few of the simplest recipes here, but you can visit our web site for many more creative ideas for your holiday entertaining. Happy hosting and Happy Holidays from all of us at Bellisari’s!
